It's For Men?!

So today was kind of an interesting day.  Mostly good, but it had its fun and interesting parts to it.  I had a short work day which was super exciting because it was incredibly stressful and disorganized, mostly due to the fact that our regular day crew manager just left to go on a cruise (lucky!) and we had some other random manager there who didn't seem to totally know what she was doing.  On a Friday, that can be kind of disastrous, and since she made some rather unwise cuts to our crew much earlier than she should have for a Friday the rest of us were kind of screwed once it got busy.  Plus people were ordering some really weird salads today.  Needless to say, I really wanted to smack some of those people for ordering their ridiculous salads.

But I lived (yay!) and had a get together with a friend to look forward to.  Since she lives in Santa Fe we don't see each other a lot, so I was ridiculously excited to hang out with her, because she's so much fun to be around.  We met at Starbucks and got some coffee and ended up spending three hours just chatting which was a lot of fun.  We oohed and aahed over Les Mis and The Hobbit, debated the singing abilities of Gerard Butler in Phantom of the Opera, discussed life and school, talked about books, careers, Downton Abbey, Sherlock, Doctor Who, more Les Mis and The Hobbit and generally just had a fantastic time as our conversation jumped all over the place.  I always love how she sometimes says the most unexpected things that make me think, wow, was not expecting that!  She never fails to make me laugh.

So after spending a fantastic afternoon with her, I ran up to Walmart to pick up a few things.  I'm starting a new diet tomorrow which I am super excited about, because its one I'm quite positive I can stick to, and I needed to pick up a few things so I can start it.  And naturally since I was there, I remembered a few other things I needed to pick up and so kind of ended up just wandering around the store.

One of the things I love that some Walmarts and Smiths have are these little face mask packs.  You can buy all these different little individual packets and they're fantastic to use.  I used to get them all the time at the Smiths up in Edgewood when we lived out there, but I haven't really seen them since being in town, so I was kinda excited when I saw that Walmart had them.  I ended up grabbing a few and after deciding that I had spent enough money, I checked out and headed home.

And of course since I had just bought these fantastic little face mask packs, I decided that I had to use one tonight.  I glanced at the few I had gotten and decided to use this pore cleanser one.  So I'm looking at the back of the packet to just kind of check on the instructions, because some of them want you to do things a certain way.  So as I'm looking at it, its talking about splashing your face with warm water first and making sure your face is shaved.  Wait, what?  I just kind of stared at it for a minute was like, Ooookay, that's weird, then continued on reading.  So as I went to open the package at the top, I notice that there's some small writing towards the top.  Not super small, just not super obvious either.  "For Men."  Oh, gosh, I started laughing so hard.  The whole shaving thing made so much more sense now!!  I honestly hadn't even really looked at the packaging that hard when I got it because I'd never seen anything that was just for men.  But me being me, I figured what the heck, and used it anyway.  I just thought that was really funny.

So actually overall, a very good day.  Now I'm trying to make sure I have my monologue for my Anne Frank audition tomorrow completely memorized.  I'm not sure if I'll get a part, I'm kind of afraid my weight might act against me like it has in the past, but my monologue is super emotional and sad and I love it!  I can't wait to deliver it.  I'm sincerely hoping I'm not so nervous that I can't get into the part as well as I do practicing and won't be able to deliver the emotion as well as I want to.  In any case, off to bed!  Good night to all!
